Chess Tournament ♖♗♚♟♞

On Friday Grace R, Amy, Anesu, Brianna, Radha and I went to the war memorial museum for a chess tournament. I was fun but a tricky as well. There was an under 12, over 12, under 10 and under 8 I was in the under 12. There were so many girls there. There was a school which I think is a private one that had uniform (like every other school) but they also had the same backpacks which confused me because I wondered how they know who's bag is  whose.

We had 6 games going on. I won 2 lost 4. I was really sad when I got back to school. But then my parents told me it was good for someone who just learnt chess in a short amount of time which cheered me up. I versed many year 8s which shock me because I won  one of them. We had a score chart after every round first I was 23rd then 51 then 53 I don't know what I got after that.

Talent Quest

Around a month ago Siobhan, Grace, Rhiannon, Indi,Tiarna, Isla, Sarah (Teacher) and I organized a plan for the Talent Show and the auditions. We had meetings,  design Posters for the School and sign up sheets and a poster for Facebook and the HPPS newsletter. Over half the School signed up.

 Once Everybody signed up we sent emails to teacher to talk to their students about the auditions being on the 28th and the 29th of June and that it has to be 1 minute 30 seconds. When I judged there was very interesting acts like Dance, (a lot) Drama, Ballet, Art, Math, Singing or playing an instrument. (I picked to watch the entertainment ones not the Music) 

I expected it would take FOREVER to watch every audition, but it wasn't so much when you audition. I LOVED watching the Group Dances, A tambourine dance  and Willy Wonker Drama Act. Most of the acts were very creative and I am excited to talk to the high school girls who is going in and who is not.

Maths With Nicole

 I enjoyed being in  Mathematical Unicorns (My Math Group) since I did not know ANYONE because I was New to HPPS as well as in it was my dispositional goal to work with people outside my confort zone. I have been learning ratio, presentages, fractions and a little of  proportions. Like in Fractions 50% of 600 = 300 or 20% of 900 = 180. Ratio was a little hard for me to understand. But I think I can understand it if I have a little bit more time learning it.
